Beth Kander proves herself to be a master story-teller with this wonderful tale. I felt the book read itself to me! Loved it and absolutely recommend it!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The intriguing storyline was indeed food for thought. I would recommend this book to those wanting a read that is entertaining, mysterious and absorbing.
Just from the start, you knew this book was going to re teach, a valuable life lesson. A bit of Zen, a bit of Buddhism, some reflections from Gandhi, and Jesus. Taught in a storyline build around today's average family model. Well written, worthy of picking up and rereading again.
Do yourself a favor, get and read this book. It has all the hallmarks of a Gaiman type story, where different stories are bound up and intertwined. So if you love to hear a good storyteller, "Was" is for you. Check it out.
This was a wonderful book. I give it 5 stars and plan on reading it again. I will also share with friends and family. Very refreshing to read a book like this.
I enjoyed getting to know the characters and finding out how they were interrelated. I love books with multiple characters whose stories intertwine to make one big story. Other than the unavoidable interruptions from my busy household, I read the book almost nonstop and I was disappointed to reach the last page. I can't wait to read her next book!
Loved all of the characters in this book. Perfect for anyone who needs a lift, going through questionable periods in life and wants to reset the path they are on.
