The problem with discovering your roots is that the more digging you do, the dirtier you can get.
Adopted into middle-class urban respectability, but with origins deep in the heart of a dramatic rural landscape, BRONCLE is a personal journey of discovery intrinsically linked to the bloody past of Ireland; a true story of smuggling, heartbreak, betrayal, adultery, and lifetime of deception and secrecy.
The Broncle a Curious Tale of Adoption and Reunion eBook Brian Bailie
I purchased hoping to get a look at the enslaved and abused woman and children of Northern Ireland and learn more about how they ended up in orphanages. This book was not that at all! However not being a history buff in the least it was a wonderful introduction to my fascination with the heart breaking religious wars from a personal stand point. A look inside of drama being uncovered within a large family circle, and what a relief to know that it's not just my family that keeps secrets but how generational it was.Product details

Riveting
I was gobsmacked by the book. There was not a dull page in the book. Just when you think you have yourself figured out, new knowledge of your predecessors comes along. Do you credit yourself with your environment and emotional attachments or are you a product of your ancestors? Are there things about our past that you should never know? The author takes you on an adventure of his own adoption and the discovery of generations before him. It all takes place in Ireland. I had to visit an internet map, so I could relate to the places in Ireland the book mentioned. Sounds like a great place to visit. Finished the book days ago and still find myself thinking about it.
